P-913 Forbes Cabin Amity Point 1980; Museum perfect for a rainy day!

The North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah (NSIMM) is a social history museum with a focus on contemporary collecting.

We aim to represent the 65000 years or so of Aboriginal history, the British invasion and colonisation, resistance and the shared history of less than 200 years. We explore the stories of shipwrecks, mining, island architecture and the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum.

We have films playing in our main gallery spaces, a children's painting table and artefact hunt activity. We have a gift shop featuring local artists. We welcome well behaved dogs. A small admission fee applies.

Location: 15-17 Welsby St Dunwich

Opening Hours:

Wed to Sun 10am to 2pm

Mon & Tues Closed.
