Cylinder

Cylinder Beach is one of the most popular swimming beaches and is patrolled by life guards. Swim between the yellow and red flags on the beach; which indicate a safe area free from rips. With north facing winds this beach is typically a more sheltered one.

A great spot for children to body board, or surf.

There is a large car park nearby offering a short walking distance to the beach. Humpback Whales can be spotted from the beach as they migrate past during winter months, and Manta Rays and Leopard Sharks during summer, Dolphins all year round.

Dogs on lead only. (A dog friendly beach is Home Beach).

Cylinder Beach gets its name from the gas cylinders that were landed there in 1932 when the Point Lookout lighthouse was being constructed.
